Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary
Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is an 18-hectare (44-acre) koala sanctuary in the Brisbane suburb of Fig Tree Pocket in Queensland, Australia. The sanctuary opened in 1927 to provide a safe refuge for sick, injured, and orphaned koalas, at a time when they were being killed for their fur. Wildlife in the sanctuary includes: koalas, kangaroos, Tasmanian devils, wombats, echidnas, and various species of reptiles, as well as a platypus. The client wanted three designs for stickers that will be given to young visitors entering the sanctuary, based on three different species that live in the sanctuary. I wanted to create a more natural and realistic depiction of the animals, but still wanted them to be appealing to a younger audience. So I used Adobe Illustrator to create a cute and realistic representation of an Echidna, Wombat, and Koala for the client, using a colour pallet directly taken from research images of each.
